CCAI has internships for the summer, fall and spring. Internship start and end dates can be adjusted to fit your schedule. In addition, CCAI can assist in arranging academic credit for your internship. We require a 15-40 hour commitment per week during the fall and spring internship, and a 30-40 hour commitment per week during the summer. CCAI offers multiple positions during each session, so we encourage all to apply!
Interns have the chance to work closely with all departments during their time with CCAI, while gaining valuable experience working on Capitol Hill. There will be opportunities to work on program management, events planning, fundraising/development and grant-writing, donor outreach and fulfillment, administration, and policy and research.
Program interns are primary responsible for assisting in planning and executing our Angels in Adoption program, Foster Youth Internship program, and National Adoption Day. Interns work closely with Congressional offices and offices of elected officials across the country to engage them in CCAI's program and the overal issues of foster care and adoption. Interns create communication materials, research program partners, assist in event planning, manage contact databases, as well as learn about marketing, fundraising, and media relations. Policy interns research and write about issues related to domestic and international adoption, as well as other related child welfare policies. Policy interns work alongside CCAI’s Director of Policy to assist in educating Members of Congress about the barriers to adoption both domestically and internationally. Interns research and stay informed on the reports and studies on current adoption issues, correspond to Congressional staff, assist in planning policy summits and legislative briefings for federal policymakers and advocates. Ideal candidates have a passion for children’s issues and policy; excellent writing, researching, editing, and analytical skills; and the capability of handling multiple tasks successfully in a fast-paced professional environment. Development & Adminstrative Internship
The Development & Adminstrative interns have the chance to work closely with all departments during their time with CCAI, while gaining valuable experience in database management, fundraising, grant writing, research, general administration, human resources and office management. There will be opportunities to work on adminstrative tasks, research, record-keeping, book-keeping, and development tracking. In addition, CCAI can assist in arranging academic credit for your internship. We require a 30-40 hour commitment per week during the internship. For more information click here.

Stipend Information: The internship is unpaid; however, we do provide a travel stipend of up to $7.00 per day.
