Chey Gethers

2004

Chegameh “Chey” Gethers can’t believe how fast time has passed since she was a Foster Youth Intern (FYI) on Capitol Hill. In 2007 she graduated from Belmont University with a major in Psychology.

As an FYI, Chey had many opportunities to meet individuals who held jobs she never imagined that she herself could hold. One of these individuals was an analyst. Once Chey learned what an analyst did, she became increasingly interested in that as a career. She began applying to organizations that had analyst position openings. The process was more difficult than she thought it was going to be, so in the meantime, she began working for a law firm.

Looking back now, Chey says, “I see how the Lord planned out my life for where He wanted me to be, every journey was a key gathered to a better future. At times it might seem like you are looking around wondering why you are where you are, but if you take it as a learning experience God will always show you why.  It may not be now, it may not be next year, but when you reflect back five, ten, even fifteen years from now, you will see exactly why God put you in this spot.” Chey, an analyst for the FBI, is married and resides in Tennessee.
