The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute's (CCAI) Angels in Adoption® Celebration (formerly called the Angels in Adoption® Gala) is one of Washington, D.C.'s most inspiring events that seeks to bring awareness to issues impacting vulnerable children and families in the United States and around the globe.

Angels in Adoption® honors individuals, couples, families, and organizations from across the nation that have made an extraordinary contribution on behalf of children in need of safe, nurturing, and permanent families. These heroes hail from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico and represent the wide spectrum of individuals involved in the adoption and foster care process. Since the program’s inception in 1999, over 3,000 Angels have received this honor. CCAI also honors a select number of National Angels in Adoption®. As the name implies, these are individuals whose contributions in the fields of adoption or foster care have had a national impact.

Past recipients of this award include: Muhammad Ali, First Lady Laura Bush, Kristin Chenoweth, Scott Fujita, Deborra-lee Furness, Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley, Patti LaBelle, Ne-Yo, Rhea Perlman, Shonda Rhimes, Korie and Willie Robertson, Al Roker, Jane Seymour, Scott and Tracie Hamilton, Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, Bruce Willis, Nia Vardalos, Bill Klein and Jen Arnold, Connie Britton, Rachel Crow, NBC Studios, NVIDIA, Sean Anders, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Hallmark Channel, PEOPLE Magazine, Magnolia Earl and family, Todd Tilghman, Miranda and Luke Caldwell, and This Is Us, Tatyana McFadden, Jenny and Dave Marrs, Hoda Kotb, Alec Ingold, the 25th annual honorees as the CCAI Visionaries: Kerry Marks Hasenbalg, Kathleen Strottman, and The Honorable Mary Landrieu, Arnold & Porter, and Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot.
